What is Soundnotation?

Soundnotation is a music transcription and sheet music distribution service. Using Soundnotation's tools, customers can create sheet music from an audio file, edit their finished products, and optionally distribute them to various online stores and music platforms.

Who is the service available for?

Soundnotation is a business-to-business (B2B) service aimed at music rights holders.

Do I keep my full copyrights?

Yes, Soundnotation is purely service company.

What file formats can I upload?

To transcribe from an audio file, you can upload MP3 or WAV files. To digitalize old sheet music, you can upload PDF.

What file formats can I download?

You can download your sheet music in the following formats: PDF, EPUB, MP3, SIB, MusicXML.

Can I open my sheet music in a standard music notation program?

Yes, you can download the MusicXML file and it can be opened and read by all popular music notation programs such as Sibelius, Finale, Musescore, etc.

I already own digital notes. Can I use the distribution service from Soundnotation?

Yes, if you already have digital sheet music you can upload it for distribution. You can also create other versions from your sheet music, for example scores for other instruments.

Can I choose the platform on which my sheet music will be sold?

Yes. You can individually select the stores in which your sheet music will be sold. If your sheet music is already being sold on some platforms, you can deselect these.

Can the sheet music have lyrics?

Yes, it can. If your song has lyrics, you can add them when you order the transcription.

How long does a transcription take?

Currently, the creation process takes about 3 weekdays.

What does a transcription cost?

Transcription costs start at 67€ and depend on the length of your song and the complexity of the transcription you want (leadsheet, duo, trio, with chords, without chords, with lyrics, without lyrics etc).
